Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1| Arrive Cochin

Arrive by international flight in the morning, after traditional ‘Swagat’ (Welcome) our representative would assist you at airport & transfer to hotel for check in. Cochin always had a very popular & historical sea trade connection with Middle East, Mediterranean Europe, Dutch & British. It has one of the finest natural harbours on the Arabian coastline. Its cosmopolitan character is reflected in the buildings & structures representing different regions of the world. It is one of the few places in the world where one can see a Jewish synagogue, Portuguese churches, architecture, mosques, temples & Chinese fishing nets, all in one city. A city of peninsulas & islands, today it is Kerala’s commercial hub. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2| Cochin (Sightseeing Tour)

After breakfast proceed for sightseeing of Cochin visiting St. Francis’ Church, built in the year 1503 by Portuguese Francisan Friars & known to be the oldest European church inIndia. It was restored in the year 1779 by the protestant Dutch, converted to an Anglican Church by the British in 1795. Vasco da Gama’s remains were buried here in 1524 & later moved to Lisbon, Portugal. We also visit Dutch Palace, originally built by the Portuguese. Later in 17th century they modified it & presented it to the Raja (King) of Kochi (Cochin). The Palace has a fine collection of mural paintings depicting scenes from Hindu epics, Mahabharata & Ramayana.

Later, visit Jew Town, synagogue, built in the year 1568, is magnificently decorated by Chinese tiles & Belgian chandeliers. Giant scrolls of the Old Testament can be found here. Also visit the spice market, where the air is filled with the pungent smell of spices & history that brought the world to its doorstep. Chinese fishing nets, (Cheenavala) are distinctly unique to Cochin. It is believed that traders from the court of the Chinese ruler Kublai Khan introduced these nets here. Stay overnight at the hotel.

In the evening, we take you to view a Kathakali dance performance (time for photography of a lifetime) Enjoy and observe the elaborate pre dance make up ritual.

Day 3| Cochin – Munnar (Transfer by Road)

After Breakfast, driven to Munnar, nestled in the undulating mountain ranges of the southern Western Ghats and is unrivalled among the tourist destinations of Kerala. Its inescapable natural beauty lures scores of tourists each and every year from not only India but also from abroad. The major highlights of Munnar are its remarkable ambiance, lush green tea gardens, mesmerizing lakes, dense forests and a cool salubrious climate. Munnar is located at the confluence of three mountain streams, Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Once, Munnar was the summer resort of the British government in South India. There is much more about Munnar that simply cannot be put in words. 

Rest of the day is at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 4| Munnar (Sightseeing Tour)

After breakfast, proceed for full-day tour of Munnar, visiting the world’s highest tea estates spread like a green carpet over hundreds of kilometres, Lush green hills all around – a place to be seen to be believed, and Eravikulam National Park, set up for the preservation of the endangered Niligir Tahr . Park has the largest known population of Tahr existing in the world & also shelters Atlas Moth, Elephants, Sambhars, Gaurs, Lion-tailed Macaque, Nilgiri Langur & LeopordThis park exhibits the breathtaking natural splendor of rolling grasslands & exotic flowers. Anamudi, (2695 mtr) the highest peak of Southern India, towers over the pride of the sanctuary. Later Visit Devikulam, a place famous for it’s beautiful lake.

Also visit Tata Tea Museum, Collection of old bits and pieces from the colonial era can be seen here. Demonstration of tea production. Information on machinaries, tea processing. Also enjoy Tea Plantation in  the Tea gardens. 

Evening at leisure or walk around the hill station.

Day 5| Munnar – Thekkady (Transfer by Road)

After breakfast, driven to Periyar Wildlife Reserve. Set on an attractive lakeside, it is South India’s most popular Wildlife Sanctuary. Periyar is a place to cruise on the lake & gives an opportunity to see wildlife. It is home to tigers, leopards, elephants, bison, antelopes, sambhar, wild boar, monkey, a wide variety of birds. 

Day 6| Thekkady – Kumarakom (Transfer by Road)

Morning, we will take you for an Elephant ride in Periyar, followed by Spice Plantation tour. 

After breakfast, driven to Kumarakom. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Kumarakom, the famous backwater tourist destination in Kerala is located in the district of  Kottayam. This place can be reached through a voyage from Alappuzha. Kumarakom is undoubtedly the most invigorating, fascinating paradise in Kerala, God’s own country. This rich green, sleepy little village of Kumarkom is located on the Vembanad lake amidst mangrove forests and coconut groves. Kumarakom is an enchanting picnic spot and provides boating, fishing and sightseeing experiences that are truly exhilarating. The slender coconut palms standing here, there and everywhere, its never ending paddy fields, meandering lagoons and backwaters, mangroves nesting birds of a hundred varieties can peacefully calm and invigorate your mind. On the scenic Vembanad lake you will come across plenty of traditional country crafts or houseboats, boats and canoes. The fresh water of the lake runs into the mainland making a labyrinth of lagoons, brooks, canals and waterways. The backwater houses a variety of species of both fauna and flora and marine life.

Afternoon visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary.  There are two seasons for birds: between October and February there are cormorants, teals, and other ducks and from February to July there are darters (snake birds), night herons, egrets, and Siberian storks. It also has golden backed woodpecker, crow pheasant, white-breasted water hen, tree pie etc.

Day 7| Kumarakom – Alleppey (Overnight Houseboat cruise)

After breakfast , transfer to the jetty. On arrival board the houseboat, locally called Kettuvallam, and cruise around cruise around beautiful Vembanad lake, This lake offers an enchanting experience to the tourists. The lake is the best picnic spot, where you can relax your mind and body. While the water gives the place a cooling effect, trees and shrubs act as a respite to the parched eyes. The lake is an excellent family-picnic destination too. While seniors can laze around the lake reading a book or talking, youngsters can opt for fishing and boating. Later proceed to Alleppy through backwaters to observe and experience the daily life of the villagers along the backwaters. 

Day 8| Alleppey – Mararikulam (Transfer by Road)

Disembark the houseboat in the morning  driven to Marari beach. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Marari Beach is a beach in Alappuzha District of Kerala, India. Barely 11 km from Alappuzha (Alleppey) town, this sleepy little village (also called Mararikulam), is an idyllic location for a vacation.  The beach is clean and safe for swimming. It’s a perfect beach for those people exploring the kerala backwater who feel like some time at the beach as well. This beach is quiet and undeveloped. The name Marari is shortened from from Mararikulam, a small and sleepy fisherman’s village.

Day 9| Mararikulam 

Spend this day at leisure relaxing on the beaches around. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 10| Mararikulam – Cochin (Tour Ends…)

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and get driven to the Cochin airport for boarding flight to your onward destination. Our company executives will assist you there.
